Hanna has always been a passionate artist.
Since her childhood, animals have been the preferred motifs in Hanna's world. In addition to her painting, she was still printing (before Ligarti) shirts with a self-made screen printing apparatus and selling them at street festivals and to friends and friends.
That went down well. Also with Alex. Hanna met him during her philosophy studies and fell in love with him (on a friendly basis). Together, the idea of turning this hobby into something bigger took shape.
This initially resulted in "Animal Hoarding" - Hanna's little animal world on T-shirts, art prints and postcards. After the first trade fairs it was clear - there is potential here!
But as life sometimes goes: Alex has meanwhile moved to Valencia in Spain. Hanna bought an old fire truck and a surfboard and traveled through Portugal. So much for that.
Let's jump back in time by about a year and many hours of sunshine: "Animal Hoarding" has so far been used as a nice sideline. The positive feedback encouraged both of them to come back to Germany and turn their passion into a real company.
Appearance Sami: Lived in Valencia himself for many years and traveled to every country as a model – maybe with the exception of Kyrgyzstan and North Korea – he too liked the idea and found his way back to Wuppertal.
It quickly became clear that we all wanted to pull together and a new name was needed for this.
Animal Hoarding became LIGARTI Tiermanufaktur.
Short side story: Do you actually know how hard it is to find a name? So we can tell you that the sessions in the Bundestag are a joke against our culture of speaking – have you ever tried to have a short conversation with two philosophy students?
Ok we digress...
After drunken nights with dangerously high coffee consumption and ill-fitting hair, LIGARTI Tiermanufaktur has prevailed. It's a combination of Hanna's surname Ligeti and Art - just Ligarti. The idea is to gradually bring Hanna's art world to high-quality products that are made with hand and heart.
At the end of the day, we don't want to mass-produce, but create artistic products that are valuable and that you can enjoy over and over again.
Hanna is the creative component of LIGARTI. She bubbles with imagination and picture ideas. Without them, Ligarti would certainly not exist in this form. You can find out more about Hanna's art here.
Meanwhile, our team includes some other great employees, which we will introduce to you soon.
